Bill Hogan
Bill is the Owner of Northeast Kingdom Physical Therapy in Newport and Island Pond. Bill’s specializes in Orthopedics and Sports Medicine. Bill has a Bachelor of Science in Sports Medicine from Keene State College and an Master of Science in Physical Therapy from UMASS Lowell. Bill has over 30 years experience in his field. Bill opened NEKPT at the Newport Clinic in 2002 and the Island Pond Clinic in 2008. In the summer of 2009, the new clinic was built and opened November 9, 2009. Bill’s interest include spending time with his wife, Jan and sons Connor and Aidan, Windsurfing, Skiing and traveling.

Jan Hogan
Jan is the Co-owner of Northeast Kingdom Physical Therapy. Jan has a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education and her specialty is in Recreation and Fitness. Jan is the Office Manager and Fitness Trainer at the Newport Clinic. Jan’s interests include being with Bill, Connor and Aidan and doing anything outside.


Shawn Moore, DPT, CSCS
Shawn has a Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Health Sciences from UMASS Boston and a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from MCHPS University. Shawn moved to the Northeast Kingdom in 2016 and lives with his wife and two children in Derby, where he hopes to “raise ’em Jay”. Shawn has been a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) from the National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA) since 2013 and more recently has enjoyed working in geriatric rehabilitation and weight-loss programming. As manager of NEKPT’s Island Pond clinic, he enjoys providing a vital service for this rural community.

Paula Hoyt
Paula Hoyt attended Lasell College in Newton, MA and graduated in 1995. Paula has worked in out- patient and in- patient settings. She has 12 years of aquatic Physical Training experience.
She currently lives in Orleans with her husband and her 2 children. Her hobbies include camping and snow shoeing with her family.


Kim Brown
Administrative Assistant. Kim started at NEKPT in March 2011 and has been a great part of our team. Her duties include welcoming patients and gym members, answering phones, scheduling, billing and other duties. Kim was a manager of a local convenience store for 12 years. In 2010 Kim went back to school and received an Associates of applied science in business administration. Kim enjoys her grandchildren and husband, going for walks and shopping.

Marilyn Maxwell
Administrative Assistant since 2010. Marilyn retired as a judicial employee and decided to “recycle” herself back in to employment and we were lucky enough to have her work with Anthony J. Tomaselli, P.T in the Island Pond Clinic. When not working or volunteering, she loves spending time with her husband, Douglas, and other family members and following her granddaughter and grandson to their sporting events.


Lisa Ciapciak PTA
Lisa was born and raised in Norwood Massachusetts and served in the Armed Forces from 1979-1985. After returning to Massachusetts, Lisa worked in Pharmacy until 2000. She then decided to move to the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont and went back to school in 2010 to become a Physical Therapist Assistant. Lisa enjoys hiking, snowshoeing, hunting and snowmobiling. Lisa joined the staff of NEKPT in May 2012.

Howie LockamyHowie Lockamy
Howie is one of our Fitness Trainers. Howie has been in the Fitness Industry for over 15 years, ranging from a General Manager of two health clubs in southern Alabama to selling fitness equipment, supplements, personal training and sales. Howie likes fitness, reading, traveling and most importantly spending as much time as possible with his daughter Avalon.


Henry Gaudion – Henry is a native of Dover-Foxcroft ME. He completed the Physical Therapy Assistant program at the University of Maine Presque Isle, in 2017. Henry enjoys exercising, hiking and cooking in his free time. He joined the NEKPT team in January 2018.



Allauna Benware – Gym maintenance. Allauna was born and raised in the Northeast Kingdom, she resides in Derby, VT with her fiancee Ryan and son Rhylnd. She enjoys hiking,kayaking, swimming, and more. She joined the staff of NEKPT in may 2016.



Penny L. Martin – Administrative Assistant. Penny was born and raised in the Northeast Kingdom, and lives in Derby, VT with her husband Scott. She enjoys spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren. Her hobbies are reading and gardening. Penny joined the staff of NEKPT in December 2017.


Penny Adams – Administrative Assistant at Island Pond Facility since 2015. She was born and raised in Vermont, graduated from Lyndon Institute in 1966 and attended UVM for a short time. She has worked at various jobs in Vermont and New Hampshire over the years. She loves spending time with Russell, her husband of 49 years, their 2 daughters, 4 grandchildren and the family pugapeke, Chester.
